Parliament to resume normal sittings from
March 14 with COVID protocols

The Parliament will resume normal sittings for the second part of the
Budget Session from March 14 in view of the declining COVID-19 cases. However,
the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha will continue to follow the COVID protocols, as
seen in the earlier parts of the Parliament sessions. House will sit from 11
am-6 pm during the scheduled 19 sittings.

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) to the nation. PM delivered the university's
first convocation address. "It's imperative that police manpower be

Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has announced that
the state government will allocate ₹250 crore to build memorials dedicated to
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Vadhu Budruk and Tulapur in the Pune district.
Separately, Pawar said that the 'Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Bravery Award'
will be launched this year for residents of the state who have shown exemplary
bravery.
Interest rate on EPF deposits reduced to
8.1% for 2021-22, lowest in 44 years

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has lowered the
interest rate on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 to 8.1% from 8.5% in
2020-21. This is the lowest since 1977-78, when the EPF interest rate was 8%.
The decision was taken at the 230th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees
Employees' Provident Fund.
Tripura Govt announced “Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa”
scheme
Tripura Government has announced a special scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami
Kalyan Prakalpa’ for tea workers. A special scheme, allotting Rs. 85 crores for
its implementation, as a step towards bringing the 7000 tea garden workers of
Tripura under the social security net. This
special scheme would ensure housing, rations, and financial support to the tea
garden workers by integrating the facilities that are entitled to them, by the
state government and the central government.
Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates first drone school at Gwalior in Madhya
Pradesh
The Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief
Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan jointly inaugurated the first drone school in
Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. This drone
school is one of the five Drone Schools planned to be opened in different
cities of Madhya Pradesh. The other four cities are Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur
and Satna. This drone school of Gwalior
will not only pave the way for the youth of Madhya Pradesh to move forward by
connecting them with technology, but it will also increase employment
opportunities. This school will prove to be a milestone in the progress and
progress of Madhya Pradesh along with Gwalior.
Prabha Narasimhan named as CEO of Colgate-Palmolive India
Prabha Narasimhan has been appointed as the CEO and MD of Colgate-Palmolive
(India) Limited. She succeeded Ram Raghavan, who has been promoted to the role
of President, Enterprise Oral Care, at Colgate Palmolive Company. Prior to this, she was working as executive
director of Hindustan Unilever (HUL). Colgate-Palmolive (India) provides oral
care products under the ‘Colgate’ brand. It also provides personal care
products under the ‘Palmolive’ brand name.
Justice AK Sikri named as Chairperson of Chardham project Committee
The Supreme Court of India has named Justice (retd) AK Sikri as Chairperson of
the High Powered Committee (HPC), of the Chardham project. The previous Chairperson Professor Ravi
Chopra had resigned from his post in February 2022, after being appointed as
the chairperson of the HPC on August 8, 2019.
A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant accepted the
resignation of Professor Ravi Chopra as chairperson of the committee after he
wrote a letter in January wishing to relinquish his post.

Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday took to Twitter to
thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government for the assistance
in repatriating Nepali nationals from war-hit Ukraine under 'Operation Ganga'.
The Nepal Prime Minister added that four Nepali nationals have arrived in the
country from Ukraine via India.
UK-based startup Space Forge aim to launch
country's 1st satellite

UK-based startup Space Forge and Richard Branson's Virgin Orbit may
launch Britain's first satellite over this summer. "We're thrilled to be
making UK history with our first launch," said Space Forge CEO Joshua
Western. The CEO added that this is the start of a great collaboration. Space
Forge's microgravity satellite, ForgeStar will be launched aboard Virgin
Orbit's LauncherOne rocket.

various terror offences. This marked the kingdom's largest-known mass execution
in its modern history. Saturday's executions exceeded the total number of
executions in Saudi Arabia in the whole of last year. Saudi state television
described those executed as having "followed the footsteps of Satan"
in carrying out the crimes.

papers with SEBI to raise up to ₹3,350 crore through an initial public offer
(IPO), Moneycontrol reported. The offer will primarily consist of fresh
issuance of equity shares with no offer-for-sale component. Sachin Bansal
co-founded the financial services company with Ankit Agarwal after exiting
Flipkart in 2018.
RBI lifts restrictions on HDFC Bank's new
digital launches after a year

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted restrictions on HDFC Bank's
new digital launches after more than a year, the private lender said. These
restrictions were imposed in December 2020, due to instances of outages in
HDFC's internet banking services. In 2021, the RBI allowed HDFC Bank to issue
new credit cards after imposing a ban for eight months.
BIS tie-up with IIT Roorkee for activities on standardisation
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and IIT Roorkee signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a 'BIS Standardization Chair
Professor' at IIT Roorkee. This would be
the first time BIS created a Standardization Chair in an Institute for
activities related to standardisation and conformity assessment. It will aid in
the establishment of standards on crucial areas such as IIT's BlockChain
applications for e-governance. The
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is proud to announce its collaboration with
the illustrious IIT Kanpur in the development of standards. The MoU will help the country's research,
development, teaching, and training in the field of standardisation and
conformity assessment, with a focus on civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical,
and earthquake engineering, as well as the development and management of water
resources and renewable energy projects, infrastructure development, medical
biotechnology and nanotechnology, biotechnology, biomaterials, and other
fields.

MSME IDEA HACKATHON 2022
Union Minister for MSME, Narayan Rane has announced the MSME Innovative Scheme
(Incubation, Design, and IPR) as well as the MSME IDEA HACKATHON 2022. Shri
Rane, speaking on the occasion, stated that MSMEs play an essential role in
Atmanirbhar Bharat. He claims that these programmes will assist entrepreneurs
in launching new businesses. During the
opening of the MSME Innovation Scheme, Shri B.B Swain, Secretary MSME, made the
keynote address, stating that it will serve as a hub for innovation activities,
facilitating and directing the development of ideas into viable business
propositions that benefit society directly.
MSME Innovative is a comprehensive approach that unifies, synergizes,
and converges three sub-components and interventions to achieve a single goal. MSME Innovative is a novel idea for MSMEs
that combines incubation, design intervention, and IPR protection in a
single-mode approach to raise awareness about India's innovation and drive

Six Indian Airports named the ACI World's ASQ Awards 2021
From India, six airports have found a place among the ‘Best Airport by Size and
Region’, by the Airports Council International (ACI), in its Airport Service
Quality (ASQ) survey for the year 2021. The
airports have been adjudged among the Asia Pacific region in different
categories based on annual passenger traffic. The ACI Airport Service Quality
(ASQ) Awards takes into account 33 parameters related to passenger amenities to
recognize airport excellence in customer experience.

in India’s Development”
Minister of Labour and Employment and MoEFCC, Bhupender Yadav has launched a
book titled “Role of Labour in India’s Development”. V V Giri National Labour
Institute has published the book. The
publishing of the book is part of the ‘Iconic Week’ celebrations of the ‘Azadi
Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
A book titled “Soli Sorabjee: Life and Times” authored by Abhinav
Chandrachud
A new biography, titled “Soli Sorabjee: Life and Times” was announced, during
the occasion of the 92nd birth anniversary of Soli Sorabjee. It is authored by
advocate and legal scholar Abhinav Chandrachud and will be released in April
2022. The book highlights the personal
details of the life of Soli Sorabjee, his family background. He was the former
Attorney General (AG) of India and served two times for the years 1989-90 and
then from 1998- 2004.

Former Zambian President Rupiah Banda passes
away at 85

Former Zambian President Rupiah Bwezani Banda passed away on Friday at
his home in capital Lusaka at the age of 85 after a two-year battle with colon
cancer. Banda's death was confirmed by his son, Andrew and Zambia's current
President Hakainde Hichilema. "We appreciate his service to the
nation," Hichilema said during a televised address to the nation.
