transfer up to US $2,50,000 abroad in a

LRS is facility provided by RBI for all resident individuals including
minors to freely remit upto certain
amount in terms of US Dollar for current and capital account purposes or
combination of both.

The Asian Development Outlook 2018 released by Asian Development Bank (ADB) projected India’s economic growth to 7.3% in 2018-19 fiscal and further to 7.6% in 2019-20 fiscal.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved $140 million loan for project aimed at
improving rural roads (connectivity) in Madhya
Pradesh.

India has been ranked at 130 out of 186 economies in recently
released Index of Economic Freedom 2018 that
measures the degree of economic freedom in the countries of the world in which Hong Kong topped.

India's largest state-owned bank,
the State Bank of India (SBI) has
become the first foreign bank in the
UK after launching its UK subsidiary, SBI (UK) Limited, with
an initial capital commitment of 225
million pounds from its parent entity.

The State Bank of India (SBI) will be investing a total of Rs 80 billion in the Arun III hydropower project of Nepal, which has 900
megawatts (MW) electricity production capacities.
10. The govt has amended Income Tax
rules that will allow transgenders
to be recognised as an independent
category of applicants for obtaining
a Permanent Account Number (PAN) for their tax-related transactions.
11. Jammu and Kashmir Bank has launched a special financing scheme, 'Add on Working Capital GST' scheme to help the state industry
cope with the delay in reimbursement of GST under special tax relief.
12. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
has placed 11 public sector banks
(PSBs) out of 21 State-owned banks under its Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework because of deteriorating
performance.
11 Banks are:- IDBI Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of India (BoI), Central Bank of India, Indian
Overseas Bank, Dena Bank, Oriental
Bank of Commerce (OBC), Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), United Bank of India,
Corporation Bank and Allahabad Bank.
13. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
in consultation with the Govt hiked
the foreign portfolio investors (FPI) investment limit in Central govt
securities (G-Sec) from 5 per cent of outstanding stock now to 5.5 per cent in FY 2019 and
6 per cent in FY 2020.
National News
1.
The second edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC-2018),

14. The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry banned over-the-counter sale of 14 steroid creams to prevent
indiscriminate sale of ointments containing steroids and antibiotics without
