ALLAHABAD BANK PO - 2011

ALLAHABAD BANK PO – 2011
Thanks to Mr. Dileep for sending the “Prepare yourself Booklet” sent by Allahabad Bank for its PO examination. I request visitors to send link of this website to their friends so that more visitors will be making use of this site. Important points noticed by me therein: Only objective test is there. No descriptive test is conducted and after this only interview is there. Many candidates are not reading this booklet. U are suggested to read this fully. Minimum pass mark is 40% for general candidates in each paper. English paper is also taken into account for evaluation of ranking. Negative marking –0.25 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

I am giving below a few question from the booklet for ready reference. Questions based on figures – I could not post them herein. Please read my blog on General awareness related to Banking industry posted herein. Also inform as many friends of yours to use this blog. After coming out successful in the written test, guidelines for interview given herein may be made use of. In case you have any queries please write to “ samba.ssivan@gmail.com” Best wishes.

IMPORTANT : Candiates resorting to any unfair practices either during the written test or during subsequent selection procedure will be liable for disciplinary action taken against him/her by the Bank, as per the disciplinary procedure laid down.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION The written examination will consist of five objective tests. (A) OBJECTIVE TESTS Sr. Name of the No. of Max. Time No. Test Ques. Marks Allotted (1) Reasoning Ability 75 75 (2) Quantitative Aptitude 50 50 (3) General Awareness with special reference 75 75 to the Banking Industry (4) Computer Knowledge 50 50 (5) English Language 50 50 Total 300 300 Three hours i.e. 180 minutes is exact and total composite time for all the above Tests. You may attempt the tests/ questions in any order you like. However in your interest you are advised not to spend too much time on any one of the tests because to qualify in the written examination you have to pass each of these tests, separately and also obtain sufficiently high mark in the merit order. All the tests except for English Language will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi and English.
THERE WILL BE PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWER MARKED BY YOU IN THE OBJECTIVE TESTS. There are five alternatives in every question of a test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by you, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. If for any question you give more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty as above for that question. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by you, there will be no penalty for that question. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer to say if fraction is 0.5 or more it will be rounded off to the next higher integer.

YOU SHOULD THEREFORE BE CAREFUL IN MARKING YOUR ANSWERS. Pass Marks : The candidate MUST pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each test will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance in each test of all the competing candidates subject to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum 40% cut off (35% for SC/ST/OBC) marks on aggregate to be considered for being called for interview. Bank reserves the right to vary cut off marks. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only a certain number of candidates from those merit-listed in written Examination will be called for Interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Inteview and will be strictly according to merit.

. Q.1. (1) black (2) red (3) green (4) yellow (5) paint Of the five, ‘black’, ‘red’, ‘green’, and ‘yellow’ form a group as they are names of colours. ‘Paint’ is not the name of a colour. Therefore (5) is the answer. Now try to solve the following question.

You have to find out which one of the answers shown against 1, 2, 3 and 4 can replace the question mark. If none of these four can replace the question mark, you will indicate (5) i.e. ‘None of these’ as your answer.

Q.21. 42 + 73 + 137 = ? (1) 352 (2) 252 (3) 242 (4) 142 (5) None of these
Q.22. 20 × 1 2 = ? (1) 4 (2) 5 (3) 12 (4) 20 (5) None of these
